Due to its mineralogical properties, this by-product is ideal for use as a base course in civil engineering and road construction. Through controlled cooling and subsequent processing in a crusher, aggregates of 0-32mm, 0-63mm and 0-125mm are produced. The product is certified according to EN 13242.
Extensive investigations in recent years have decidedly ruled out any adverse effects on the environment caused by metallurgical gravel. For this reason, the Provincial Administrative Court of Styria expressly recognized the product characteristics of Marienhütte's metallurgical gravel in its ruling of
15 June 2016.
MARKING OF THE
RIBBED REINFORCING STEEL
Reinforcing steel is marked with so-called rolling marks. These are rolled into the rolled product in the form of reinforced ribs. The normal ribs between the reinforced ribs are counted when reading the markings.
The markings of the ribbed reinforcing steel according to ÖNORM EN 10080 and ÖNORM B4707 consist of factory markings and quality markings. Grade B550B is to be marked according to the specifications of the Austrian Standards Institute (see Fig. 1). The Marienhütte has the factory mark No. 3; evident by 3 normal ribs between 2 reinforced ribs.
The designations of the ribbed reinforcing steel according to DIN 488 consist of the country design ation for Austria and the plant designation. The country code No. 1 can be seen by 1 normal rib between 2 reinforced ones, the reading direction starts with the 2 reinforced ribs. The Marienhütte is plant no. 89, therefore there are 8 or 9 normal ribs between 2 reinforced ones.
The markings of the ribbed reinforcing steel according to ÖNORM B4707 consist of works markings and quality markings. Grade B600B is to be marked according to the specifications of the Austrian Standards Institute (see Fig. 3). The Marienhütte has the works mark No. 3; evident by 3 normal ribs between 2 reinforced ribs.
