Sustainable transformation through upcycling and circular economy
"Circular economy" and "upcycling" are becoming increasingly important. When scrap is recycled into high-quality structural steel, this conserves resources, minimizes the ecological footprint and reduces dependence on natural raw materials. After all, scrap is an inexhaustible source! Upcycling also saves energy, reduces greenhouse gas emissions and combats climate change. Our practice thus promotes a sustainable cycle and paves the way to an environmentally friendly future of construction.
Building
Building is one of the greatest human achievements. Building is culture, creates identity and provides security. The modern way of life is inconceivable without a built environment. Over thousands of years, building has continued to evolve, right up to the present day with its highly developed technologies and materials. One of these materials is concrete. It is only through reinforcing steel that concrete becomes exactly what contemporary building culture needs: a flexible and resilient material.
ENVIRONMENT
Thanks to circular economy and upcycling, we produce reinforcing steel without polluting the environment. Reinforcing steel and environmental protection thus complement each other in a remarkable way! Our efficient technologies and optimized processes also reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions during production. The result is a high-quality construction product that meets the demands of the construction industry while being sustainable and environmentally friendly.
Recycling rate
100%
Modern construction means that the service life of buildings is also increasing. Once a building has reached the end of its life cycle, the reinforcing steel used in it lives on. This is because it is 100% recyclable and, once the building has been demolished, it is returned to the steel mill as scrap iron, which in turn is used to produce reinforcing steel. This closes the cycle and brings Marienhütte one step closer to one of its most important visions: waste-free production.
REGIONALITY
SUSTAINABILITY
Those who produce today must think about tomorrow, especially when it comes to building. Modern buildings have a life cycle that easily exceeds 100 years. As producers of building materials, we must therefore think beyond the present. In this context, the circular economy plays a crucial role. This means that the materials we use today can be reused in the future. We are aware of our great responsibility and act accordingly.
